RICHARD L. KRAMER is Chairman of the Board of the Republic Family of Companies, whose primary focus is the development, management and ownership of investment grade real estate. Mr. Kramer has been a managing general partner, co-managing partner or general partner of over 100 real estate partnerships. He has more than 40 years of experience in the acquisition, development and management of over $8 Billion in real estate projects throughout the country, as well as the strategic management and ownership of various investment companies.

Over the past four decades Mr. Kramer and the Republic Family of Companies have developed approximately 29,000,000 square feet of real estate representing an investment at cost of over $8 Billion. Additionally, Republic currently has over $2 Billion of new projects under construction and development in the Washington, D.C SMSA, Denver, Philadelphia, the San Jose/San Francisco/Silicon Valley markets, and the Southeast part of the United States, which are recognized as the top commercial and residential markets in the country. Republic is also currently working on a number of multi-hundred-million-dollar projects in major cities around the United States with millions of square feet in its development pipeline. Republic has specialized in over 35 private/public sector projects and partnerships over the last 40 years as part of its various real estate activities. It has been involved in the development or re-development of a wide range of signature and monumental commercial projects.

Prior to Republic, Mr. Kramer was co-owner and Vice Chairman of Western Development Corporation, (WDC), (the predecessor company to the Mills Corporation) which focused on retail and innovative mixed-use development projects. WDC was the developer of several super regional shopping center projects with an aggregate market value in excess of $1 Billion. Its projects included Potomac Mills in Northern Virginia; Franklin Mills in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sawgrass Mills in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Gurnee Mills in Chicago, Illinois, and Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Mr. Kramer has served on the New York Administrative Committee for Fleet Bank (Bank of America) and as a Director of Young Audiences of America. He is presently a member of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Kennedy Center, the Georgetown University Board of Regents and the Parents Leadership Council, and was formerly on the Board of The Institute of Classical Architecture, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. Additionally, Mr. Kramer is involved in a Nationwide Veteran’s Housing effort and many other charitable, civic, cultural, and social organizations of which he is a generous supporter.
